Publish Your Conference Proceedings with us

Partner With Us for Conference Publishing

Northeast Langchive offers comprehensive publishing services for academic conferences focused on Northeast Indian languages, computational linguistics, language technology, and related fields. We provide professional, open access proceedings publication with dedicated ISBN/ISSN allocation and DOI registration for each paper, ensuring your conference contributions receive proper academic recognition and discoverability.

Whether you’re organizing a workshop, symposium, or full conference, we handle the technical infrastructure of scholarly publishing so you can focus on creating an excellent academic program. Our mission is to make rigorous research on underrepresented languages accessible while maintaining the highest publication standards.

What We Provide

When you publish your conference proceedings with Northeast Langchive, you receive a complete publishing solution designed for academic credibility and maximum reach.

ISBN Registration: Your proceedings receive a dedicated ISBN/ISSN, establishing it as a legitimate academic publication recognized by libraries, institutions, and indexing services worldwide. This ISBN distinguishes your conference output as a formal scholarly contribution rather than informal gray literature.

DOI for Each Paper: Every accepted paper receives its own Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through our membership/partners. DOIs make individual papers permanently citable, trackable through citation metrics, and discoverable through academic search engines. Authors can include these DOIs on their CVs, grant applications, and future publications, significantly increasing the value of presenting at your conference.

Open Access Hosting: All proceedings are published under Creative Commons BY 4.0 licensing and hosted permanently on our platform. There are no paywalls, subscription fees, or access restrictions. This ensures maximum visibility for your conference’s intellectual contributions and allows presenters from resource-limited contexts to share their work freely with global audiences.

Indexing and Discoverability: Proceedings are indexed by Google Scholar and other academic search engines. We provide proper metadata to ensure papers appear in relevant searches and author profiles. Optional integration with ORCID helps connect papers to researcher identities.

No Author Fees: We do not charge article processing charges (APCs) or require conference presenters to pay for publication. Knowledge about endangered languages and underrepresented communities should be freely accessible to those communities.

Publishing Process

Publishing conference proceedings with Northeast Langchive follows a straightforward timeline designed to work with typical conference schedules.

Initial Consultation (2 months before conference): Contact us to discuss your conference scope, expected number of papers, review process, and timeline. We’ll establish a publication document outlining deliverables and responsibilities. Early consultation allows us to reserve ISBN allocation and coordinate DOI registration.

Submission and Review (conference planning phase): You manage your conference’s peer review process according to your standards. We can provide guidance on double-blind review, acceptance criteria, and ethical publication practices, but review decisions remain with your program committee. We recommend accepting papers conditionally with required revisions to ensure quality proceedings.

Post-Conference Compilation (2-4 weeks after conference): Authors submit final revised papers meeting your formatting guidelines. We work with you to compile submissions, verify that all accepted papers are included, and ensure consistent formatting across the proceedings. Authors provide camera-ready PDFs or Word documents following our template.

Production (3-6 weeks): Our team handles copyediting, generates DOIs, creates the proceedings PDF with proper front matter (title page, table of contents, ISBN, copyright information), and prepares metadata for indexing. You receive a draft for approval before final publication.

Publication and Distribution: Once approved, proceedings go live on our platform with permanent URLs for the full volume and individual papers. We notify relevant indexing services. Authors can immediately cite their papers using the assigned DOIs.

The entire process from initial contact to published proceedings typically takes 2-4 months, though we can accommodate faster timelines for established conference series with efficient review processes.

What We Need From Conference Organizers

To ensure high-quality proceedings, we ask conference organizers to meet several basic requirements.

Rigorous Peer Review: All papers must undergo peer review appropriate to your field’s standards. We recommend double-blind review by at least two reviewers per paper, but recognize that different conference formats may require adapted approaches. The key requirement is that acceptance decisions are based on scholarly merit rather than simply participation.

Thematic Alignment: While we welcome diverse topics within language research and technology, proceedings should have clear relevance to Northeast Indian languages, computational linguistics for low-resource languages, endangered language documentation, or closely related fields. If you’re unsure whether your conference fits our scope, contact us for consultation.

Copyright Compliance: Authors must confirm they hold rights to all submitted content or have obtained necessary permissions. Conference organizers are responsible for verifying that papers do not plagiarize or infringe on third-party rights. We provide a copyright declaration template for authors to sign.

Minimum Quality Standards: Papers should be substantial academic contributions (typically 6-12 pages for conference papers, though we’re flexible). They must be written in clear academic English with proper citations, methodology, and argumentation. We reserve the right to request revisions or reject papers that don’t meet basic scholarly standards, though we work collaboratively with organizers to address quality concerns.

Timely Communication: Organizers should respond to queries about paper status, author revisions, and approval of drafts within agreed timeframes. Publishing delays typically stem from slow responses rather than production issues, so active coordination ensures timely publication.

Publication Costs

Northeast Langchive does not charge conference organizers or paper authors for proceedings publication. Our open access mission is supported by institutional funding and our broader publishing activities. There are no hidden fees, page charges, or administrative costs.

In exchange, we ask that conference organizers acknowledge Northeast Langchive as the publisher in conference materials and encourage presenters to cite published papers using our DOIs and URLs rather than distributing unofficial PDFs
